About the event

“The State of our Aliveness and our Breath” by Kate Becker

All too often, people unconsciously associate aliveness with being unsafe. This creates a profound and problematic—one could even say tragic—loss of vitality in both body and life. A primary way this occurs is through holding or limiting the breath. When aliveness is turned down in order to feel safe, life becomes underwhelming physically, emotionally, and spiritually, while becoming overwhelming mentally. As a state of being, this is actually less safe.

In breathwork, a simple yet profound shift can take place: the creation of a new neurobond between bodily aliveness and a sense of safety. This discussion begins with the physiological, neurological, emotional, and spiritual effects of breathwork, before moving more deeply into the nature of aliveness.
